Translating Business Questions into Data
Business leaders do not usually ask questions in the language of data. They ask in the language of pressure, uncertainty, priorities, and operational friction.
A big part of analytics leadership is translation. What is the actual decision behind the question? What would have to be measured to support it? What data is available, and what is missing?
That translation step is where much of the real value gets created, because it turns ambiguity into something the organization can actually use.
