The Hidden Work Behind Dashboards
When people see a finished dashboard, they tend to imagine the work as wiring up data and arranging visuals. In reality, most of the value was usually created long before the first chart appeared.
The real work is in reconciling inconsistent definitions, surfacing buried logic, and getting multiple stakeholders to agree on what the numbers actually mean. None of that looks dramatic. All of it matters.
That hidden work is usually what determines whether the final analytics will earn trust or quietly become another thing people look at and ignore.
