Measuring What Matters

Organizations often measure what is easiest instead of what is most useful. Production metrics tend to be visible because they sit naturally inside operational systems. The surrounding activities that influence performance are often much harder to see.

That is why some of the most meaningful insight comes from measuring something new, especially when that new measurement helps explain why the visible outcomes look the way they do.

When an organization starts measuring what really matters, even simple reporting can suddenly become much more powerful.
